Job Description

Be part of one of Australia's fastest growing enterprise start-ups, focused on automation and AI in Australia's largest companies. Work with an ambitious team on a mission to make a real difference! 

As a DevOps Engineer, you will be working directly with our Tech Leads and Head of Engineering, as well as close collaboration with the full product development team, engineering new products using the latest technologies to support business intelligence and visual analytics in the cloud.  

You'll bring solid experience in AWS and back end development using the latest serverless web technologies and open source frameworks. You will be working in a highly collaborative environment across the full product development lifecycle, with rapid development of solutions using DevOps best practices. 

Essential Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or relevant IT subject with consistently strong academic performance. Postgraduate degree preferred 

  • 3+ years commercial experience using AWS services to manage and run production workloads, particularly with CloudFormation, ECS, Lambda, S3, Amazon Elasticsearch Service, DynamoDB. Certification is highly desired. 

  • Experience in CI/CD toolsets such as Code Pipeline, Code Build/Bamboo/Ansible/Puppet or similar. 

  • Solid understanding of web application architectures (CDN's, Caching, Load Balancers and Database technologies) and experience with microservices architectures 

  • Commercial experience with Python & Node.js 

  • Experience in containerisation (e.g. Docker)  

  • Experience administering a Linux OS  

  • Experience in Agile methodologies and experience with TDD  

  • Proven experience launching at least one web application 

  • Effective written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills, and a sense of humour!  

Preferred Qualifications
  • Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or relevant IT subject  

  • API design and development experience, with proven experience in developing web services (REST)
